Trying to keep up...

There are days when I just can't seem to keep up with life... since my trip to Denver was cancelled (or should I say postponed) I am home this weekend. That part is nice, but since I'm home I figured I should try and use my time productively. I'm in the middle of laundry and cleaning the house, and I realized that I need to do a bit of grocery shopping for the week. As I start the grocery list on the back of an envelope, I realize it's yesterday's mail that I haven't even opened yet. So, I start to open yesterday's mail and begin to file the bills when I realize that I need to write some checks... then I realize that I am out of checks and need to re-order them. AGH! So, I'm back to my grocery list, after another round of laundry, and I'm looking around the house and realizing I should organize the closet. Honestly though, at this point, I am strongly considering a nap.

Making Root Beer

Our first venture into making root beer... we're excited to drink it when the kids are back in two weeks! From there, we'll be able to start tweaking the recipe. Our goal is to make a Davis Family Root Beer!

Wii Bowling!

A friend of Josh's loaned us his Wii this weekend to try with the kids. We were bowling! It was a blast, and I think a Wii may be in our future. :)

Pamper Day!

Audri and I had some "girls time" today! We went out and got our hair and nails done... then, when the boys picked us up, they had crowns for us as the queen and princess of their lives. :)

My new hair cut... a bit shorter, and with bangs. I'm sure it'll look a little different once I can fix it for myself. You know how it goes when someone else fixes it for you...

I have my first ever set of gel nails. You can't really see, but Audri has a flower painted on her thumbs, too. They were very good to us!

It's been a fun day! Audri wouldn't cooperate for a picture with her crown, so we'll try that one again tomorrow.

Time Flies...

I just realized that it's been over a month since I posted anything... oops! I keep meaning to! Updates in our lives... really, work, school, and weekends with the kids seem to take over all of our time, so there isn't much to update. We were given a small dining room table a few weeks ago, which has been such a blessing. :) It's nothing spectacular, but it's nice to have a place to sit together and have dinner. Josh and I make a point to sit at the table a couple of times a week (we don't get to have dinner at the same time all that often during the school year) and we love family dinners together with the kids.

We'll have the kids with us next weekend, and we're talking about trying to make root beer together. :) I'll take pictures and post them, so stay tuned... :)

Girls Weekend

My weekend in Washington D.C. and Virginia was wonderful! As you can tell, we did take in a few sights... this was as close as we got to the White House, but we did find a nice couple to take a picture of all of us! This is actually the only picture of the three of us together that I have!

I love being with my sisters. :) They are wonderful friends, and ladies that I just enjoy spending time with. It was a fabulous weekend together!

Baking Cookies

Today was a baking extravaganza! I have found myself this year offering to bring cookies to classes that I really enjoy... just before I went to Virginia, I had a wonderful group of students, and promised them cookies. So, this afternoon I baked 4 different kinds of cookies: 8 dozen chocolate chip, 8 dozen oatmeal chocolate chip, 6 dozen peanut butter, and 6 dozen snickerdoodle. I am exhausted! I think I should remember this moment the next time I offer to bake cookies. :) No more baking for at least a week!
