Yesterday I hosted the 2nd "I'm Going to College" experience at Stevens-Henager College... we had 48 6th-graders from one of the elementary schools come up to the campus for the day. They were able to complete a registration form a few weeks ago, so I registered them for four classes throughout the day... three of their choice, and a college planning class that all were required to take. The classes they registered for included management principles, accounting, computer servicing, medical asepsis, microbiology, and Photoshop.
We started the morning in a group, welcoming the students to the campus and passing out registration forms. From there, the students attended their four classes, then reconvened in the opening ceremonies room where we had pizza for all the students, and then they graduated from the program with a certificate of completion and were also provided a t-shirt.

Building tinker toys? Sign me up! What a fun experience for those students. Yay for your thesis, flowers and spinach dip!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Jaime! Sounds like you had a great (and yes exhausting) day on Friday. Were those flowers tulips? How'd they know...
